If you have someone you love detained inside Stewart Detention Center, El Refugio (“The Refuge”) is here for you.El Refugio is Alterna’s hospitality house located at 655 Main Street in Lumpkin, GA – right outside the gates of Stewart Detention Center. Its purpose is to serve the family and friends of men detained and, thus, separated from their loved ones.
During the weekends we offer:
- Free meals
- Free lodging
- Emotional and spiritual support
